Detective Inspector MisterWupps crackin the case

Solve the Mystery (writing prompt)
Prepared by: Ms. Sarah Elizabeth Allen
THE SCENARIO:
You are a team of undercover agents on training. You arrive at the station where you are immediately
presented your first mystery case to solve.
THE CASE:
The case involves a murder of a 20-year-old girl, named Anna, who was shot point-blank along the
sidewalk. The killer managed to hide himself and was never identified. Moreover, no physical evidences
were found to help you at the right direction. There is only the testimony of one eye witness.
The eye-witness happens to be the mother of the victim’s boyfriend. Accordingly, she claims to have been
walking with the victim that day because Anna claimed to meet-up a virtual friend. The mother basically
claims to have no idea what the meet-up was for or who it was in particular. All she knows is that Anna
has been in contact with the virtual friend for months and has never yet met the person. As reported, she
says what happened, happened quickly. One time they were looking around and walking on the sidewalk
nearing the meet-up place and the next thing she knew she simply looked backed to find Anna sprawled
on the pavement shot on the head and not even a shadow of anyone around was present.
You try to look at Anna’s data and you read her file. As reflected she’s been quite the independent girl
ever since. She did not grow up with her immediate parents but with a close relative. Moreover, you
discover she’s been living apart her family (clan) for years now and hasn’t visited or met them for almost
three years past. However, she time to time drops messages to her siblings.
THE CHALLENGE:
Your chief of police and program adviser announced that the department will be dismissing a lot of people
and will willingly drop even OJT agents if their respective assigned cases are not solved. But to ensure that
you will keep your jobs, you need to find the culprit and close the case or else you’ll be kicked out.

Detective Inspector MisterWupps' Findings on the Case

Regarding this case, there can only be two suspects; the mother and this virtual friend.

My assumptions are highly based on the evidences given and upon my own judgement.
After taking my time thinking about this, I realized that I find my theory the only thing that is possible to happen in this situation and it must be it.

First of all, the mother's testimony and stories is already suspicious enough for almost everyone to doubt it. In her story she didn't even mention hearing a gunshot before turning to find her daughter dead or something. I mean that's just stupid, being with your daughter at a quiet place where anything could happen and then u wander off away and take your eyes off your daughter? Well if that's true that mother must be stupid, but I believe that's not what happened. Her alibi is just stupid, I mean why would a mother who hasn't been in contact with her daughter suddenly be with her during a meet up? The mother must have conspired with someone else in order for her to be "clean" in this planned murder.

My theory is that everything was planned by her mother all along, the girl didn't contact her clan for years except for her siblings right? What could be the reason why she didn't contact them?

The girl must have done something very very wrong to her mother or to her clan and she got afraid of the consequences she might take so she ran away to avoid the punishment. After she ran away, her mother must have hired an assassin to get revenge on what this girl had done, finding someone must be hard to do so this must have went off for years until eventually one of her siblings accidentally leaked out an information on where she might be or the assassin found out about it himself.

There was no proof that the girl had a virtual friend right? The mother must have pretended to her daughter that she has already forgiven her for what she has done, lured her to a perfect place for murder, the assassin then, caught her daughter off guard and shot her at a point-blank range. There were no physical evidences at the murder scene, not even a bullet shell? Even if the assassin is quick, she could have still spotted the killer picking up the bullet shell and run away but she said she didn't see anything, which means that she must have given the assassin some time to pick up the bullet shell and run away before she screamed and told the police.

What the girl has done to her clan that lead her mother to do this is still unknown,
I am still working on it.

                                                                                       Best Regards,
                                                                                                   Detective Inspector Wupps
